Oh my, oh my! Someone crank up the AC because this book is mesmerising, electrifying and oh so surprising. Denise has created a heart pumping, action packed, mythically enchanting wonderful book. You’ll breeze through it with a gigantic grin on your face but as you reach that last page, man I’m sure you’ll say : “I need more!”
The characters are incredibly well written and I adored Ellie, she is just so freaking sarcastic! Which I live for, given I am a highly sarcastic person. Given this she can be incredibly stubborn but also so sweet, especially in regards to her family. And the chemistry between her and Collin was just WOW! He is a thief, or con artist, whatever you will but them together is just hilarious! Like laugh out loud getting weird looks from strangers funny. And of course these two engage in some not so legal actions, but when they always try and one up the other it makes for a great read.
Lucky wallet. I’d love to be that close to Collin’s ass. Good Lord. When had I become this person?

Of course they become romantically involved, you know it will head that way eventually…it always does. But for me it felt like after they did get all saucy minxy they lost a bit of their charm. You did get to see the change in Collin as he began to question the way he had been living his life after meeting the wonderful Ellie, but he just becomes such a softy when he’s all loved up after five days. Five days! At least the three little words weren’t mentioned, otherwise a severe shaking of the head would occur.
This being said I loved the mythology present in this book. I haven’t really read many novels about curses, but the tie to the Native Americans was really interesting to read. The whole lore that surrounded the book was written wonderfully and very intriguing. Especially the whole thing with wind Gods, the birth of the universe and the plot line with the pure soul. And lets not forget some steamy scenes with a certain couple holding hands. I know you can’t imagine it right now, probably thinking “Oh Meg people holding hands isn’t necessarily up there on my hottness rating scale…” But to that I only say “You’ll have to wait and read.”
I definitely want to pick up the next one, especially with the gigantic cliff hanger! Why must you do this to me Denise!? And why must my suspicions about Collin be true, but yet at the same time so heartbreaking? You should definitely keep an eye out for this one when it is released in november.
